Sazerac 18 Year Old Rye Whiskey 2021
Sazerac 18 Year Old Rye Whiskey 2021 Release
The previous edition of Sazerac Rye 18 Year Old was named âBest Rye Whiskey Aged 11 Years and Overâ by âJim Murrayâs Whisky Bible.â This 2021 straight rye whiskey release has notable flavors of oak, caramel, and dark chocolate, with a finish of coffee, black pepper, and cherries. The barrels for this whiskey were filled in the spring of 2003 and it rested on the third floor of Warehouse K
Nose: A nice pop of rye followed by butterscotch, baking spice, vanilla taffy, citrus and just a touch of dill. Itâs a decent aroma all around and it was pleasant enough while sitting and sniffing it on the patio of the bar.
Palate: Butterscotch, wood, rye spice, a buttery sweetness, a touch of fruit and an earthy, almost herbal, undertone. Again it was decent and was perfectly enjoyable to sit and sip, but it wasnât anything particularly special either.
Finish: A med-long fade fueled by rye, wood, dark sweets and a bit of fruit.
