Bright pale yellow in color. Open nose of white fruits with a nice minerality offering complexity. The palate is well-balanced and the finish is lemon flavored and fresh.
Originally founded in Ăpineuil, the Estateâs vineyard lies around the small village of ChichĂ©e, through which the Serein river flows, making it a terroir recognized for bringing freshness, elegance and distinction to the wines.
The Chablis region is a limestone plateau cut by valleys. This limestone is called âKimmeridgianâ with alternating marl and limestone and tiny deposits of oysters in the rock.
Domaine Michaut is located in the village of Chichée in north-central France, halfway between Paris and Dijon. It is owned and managed by Maison François Martenot, situated in Vignoles, a village in eastern France, bordering Beune.
The Maison was founded in 1922 when Lucien Gustave Martenot purchased a 10-hectare estate in Savigny-lĂšs-Beaune, dating to 1859. Through the years, more estates were acquired, including Domaine Michaut. In 2015, the Helfrich Family acquired the estate and merged cutting-edge technology with traditional techniques to produce award-winning wines.
