A decades long journey into wine culminated into a new winery with the intention of expressing a unique sense of place. Focused on high elevation and cool climate sites from Paso Robles and Santa Barbara we seek out high quality vineyard sites and work closely with our growers to bring out the best in their terroir.
Long term relationships and careful cultivation of the vines and soil help capture the subtle distinction of each vintage. We are a constant work in progress with the humble goal of authenticity.
Shane is a Los Angeles based wine director who cut his teeth in some of the best restaurants the city has to offer. Committed to hospitality he later journeyed through distribution and his passion for touching all aspects of wine only grew. This unending curiosity for knowledge has sparked his most exciting and ambitious project to date, Holden Cellars.
From the seeds of conversations within the wine community a foundation was laid to create site specific, low intervention wines that tell a story.
During the pandemic they lost their best friend and companion after 15 years. He provided unending loyalty, excitement, and endless laughter. So rather than keeping him in the past tense they decided to keep him in the present. His likeness touches every cork and his namesake is tied. This is a small tribute to the biggest heart and small way to honor his legacy. Holden, knows lighting up heaven with big goofy smile and hope you find the biggest stick possible. So cheers to Holden and all the pup parents out there!
