Larry Brooks is one of those indelible California wine fixtures whom you've probably never heard of. Hired as the original winemaker at Russian River Valley's Acacia in 1979, he was one of the first pioneers of single-vineyard Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in California. After 19 years of building Acacia into a juggernaut brand, he left in 2000 to scale way down and begin producing his own label, Campion. His three Chardonnays each focus on one expression of California terroir from different regions along the length of the Golden State - Carneros, Edna Valley, and Santa Lucia Highlands.
