A complex Chablis made from 45-year-old vines grown on a clay-limestone vineyard facing the venerable Blanchot Grand Cru vineyard. This wine possesses a beautiful mineral structure, which allows it to maintain its freshness for several years.
Cote de Brechain is a Chablis Premier Cru climat at the northeastern end of its umbrella, or flag-bearing, cru of Montee de Tonnerre, 1km (0.6 miles) east of Chablis town. The Côte de Bréchain vineyard occupies the top of a west-facing slope along the Brechain valley, directly opposite the Blanchot Grand Cru site.
Generally blended with other climats in the Montée de Tonnerre vineyard, or simply labeled as the latter, the 10 hectare (25 acre) climat neighbours Pied d'Aloup at the top of the spur, although the latter faces more directly south.
